Chifley Meeting Room Parquetry

We were thrilled to be invited to work on this engineered timber parquetry installation in a corporate meeting room with these incredible views over the south of Sydney.

The parquetry was to be inlaid within a marble frame with a polished brass trim. It is an incredibly high-end piece of timber flooring that came out looking fantastic.

Before we could install the flooring, we needed to diamond grind the subfloor to provide enough depth for the new timber flooring. It also had to be deep enough for the self-levelling concrete to sit on top of it to the exact depth so the new timber installation would sit exactly flush with the marble frame. 

Before laying a single piece of timber, we needed to plan the placement of every single piece of timber in a detailed pre-install set out. Once we were happy with the layout, we trowel glued the Engineered Oak flooring to the subfloor and neat cut the perimeter.

After final detailing and clean-up, this was the result. The view inside the meeting room in Chifley tower is just as impressive as the view looking out at Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs.
