Bellevue Hill Townhouse – Timber Flooring Supply & Installation

Know-How Flooring was engaged to supply and install premium timber flooring throughout a four-level townhouse in Bellevue Hill, delivering a seamless and durable flooring solution tailored to a high-end residential environment.

The new engineered timber flooring was installed across all four levels, creating a strong sense of continuity and flow throughout the home. A herringbone timber flooring pattern was selected for the main living areas, providing a timeless aesthetic, visual movement, and a refined architectural finish that complements the contemporary design of the townhouse.

A standout element of the project was the existing staircase, which was carefully retained and upgraded. The stair structure was cladded with straight timber planks, colour-matched to the herringbone flooring to ensure visual consistency between levels. The original risers were preserved and painted white, adding contrast and enhancing the clean, modern look of the staircase without compromising the original structure.

Subfloor preparation played a critical role in the success of the installation. Each level of the townhouse presented different substrate conditions, all of which required targeted preparation works to meet the 3mm over 3m flatness tolerance. Our team carried out detailed assessments and levelling procedures to ensure the subfloors were compliant, stable, and suitable for long-term timber flooring performance.

The herringbone timber flooring was fully trowel-glued using a high-performance 4-in-1 adhesive system, delivering superior bond strength, acoustic control, and long-term stability. This installation method results in a floor that feels solid, quiet, and robust underfoot, providing both comfort and durability.
