Sydney inner west timber flooring project

Annandale Blackbutt Timber Floor

This was an incredibly challenging timber flooring project, and we are thrilled with the spectacular result.

This Edwardian-era residence in Annandale had some areas inside the house that already had 125 year old antique Kauri pine that the architect recommended the client keep. So, we had to do our best to match the new flooring in the new extension with what already existed in the heritage area.

We helped the client with the selection of Blackbutt, which has a similar grain to the Kauri, along with the perfect finishing coat. Bona Traffic XD extra matt. But prior to laying the new timber floor, we had a great deal of work to do with the subfloor.

Our team built up the subfloor by an incredible 160mm to make sure the flooring in the new section of the house seamlessly connected to the Kauri Pine flooring in the existing part of this gorgeous Edwardian era house.

We laid particle board onto the subfloor and fully glued and secret nailed the blackbutt timber throughout. As always, the installation was carried out with immaculate care, and impeccably cleaned up once we were done. We're sure you'll agree that this Annandale Blackbutt flooring project looks spectacular, and we're thrilled with the result - as are the home owners.
