Description

Blackbutt timber has a moderately coarse yet even texture thanks to its interlocking but overall straight grain. Coloured from pale brown to cream, and with a cathedral grain pattern that’s been called “inspiring” by builders and interior designers alike.

Remember wood, being a natural product, features large variations when it comes to appearance, density, and hardness. In fact, don’t be surprised if your blackbutt floorboards contain hints of pink hues, one of the most common colour variations for this versatile Australian hardwood.

The floorboards are constructed with a solid wear layer of Blackbutt on top of multi-ply sub-layers for structural stability and longevity. 

The manufacturing process creates a board stability that allows the Engineered Blackbutt product to be installed directly to an acoustic underlay or concrete slab. This can be done either by a floating timber base or by direct gluing. Please take note that colour and grading may vary slightly from batch to batch. Being a natural product, colour and grain will vary. Knots and surface checking are to be expected as well. Don’t put off by this natural variation, however. The finished effect is always warm and inviting.
